 Although engineering is viewed as a technical field, I believe that communication is vital to succeeding as an engineer.  Everyone including engineers have to communicate on a daily basis, be it with their supervisors, people in different department or even with clients.  Having an effective communication in engineering is critical in ensuring that when there is a global project taking place, all participants are on the same page so as to avoid any misunderstandings.
